Tim Walker
Drawing from the dreamlike yet unsettling worlds captured by photographer Tim Walker, Joliet transforms childhood wonder into something hauntingly beautiful. Like Walker’s moody makeup and whimsical, off-kilter settings, the collection invites the viewer into a dark fairy tale—one that blurs the line between innocence and unease.
Rooted in my own childhood dreams of my grandmother’s porcelain dolls stirring to life, the designs play in a space where nostalgia meets the uncanny. Dark, inky tones are softened by delicate pastels, creating a palette that feels both romantic and eerily charged. References to the Victorian and Gothic eras appear in silhouettes, detailing, and fabric choices, while subtle nods to the history of infamous haunted dolls weave an undercurrent of mystery through the collection.
With every piece, Joliet asks its audience to step back into their imagination—where beauty can feel dangerous, and the familiar can turn strange under the right light.
